Tack Weng Yee

Tack Weng Yee is the technical manager for TenCate Geosynthetics Asia. He graduated with Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Malaya in 1982 and has more than 30 years of experience in geotechnical and geosynthetics engineering. He has written more than 50 publications for seminars, conferences and journals, including the Geosynthetics International paper “Modelling the geotextile tube dewatering process” that was voted one of top three papers of 2012. He also delivered the theme lecture on ‘Geosynthetics for Erosion in Hydraulic Environment’ at the 5th Asian Regional Conference on Geosynthetics in Bangkok in 2012.

Geotextile tubes were indispensable in the bridge building works of the Lach Huyen Port Project. About 27 km of the material was utilised to construct the containment bund of the 620,000 m3 dredged sediment containment facilities.
